Mt Mainalon is an area with many underground waters and springs. Both the villages and the paths are dotted with beautiful stone-built fountains. All along the Menalon Trail, the hiker will find many fountains with crystal clear, cool water. The only spring that dries up in the summer is Koskitsa, in the 3rd section (Zygovisti-Elati), but you will find water before and after (in the chapel of Agios Georgios and Paleochori, respectively).
