An easy and shaded walk, ideal for groups and families, that connects the two monasteries of the Kareas area. The route can be made back and forth or in slight variations following one of the innumerable variations available in this well-frequented area.

Leave the car in the recreation area after the entrance of the army camp Kareas and go gently uphill to the monastery of Agios Georgios Koutalas. There aren't many things to see around or inside this small monastic complex, so continue on the small road until reaching the first path, right above the houses of the Kareas neighbourhood. The slightly uphill path quickly reaches the site of the monastery of Agios Ioanis Kareas, where one can relax in the shaded resting area beside the fountain - and possibly to visit the monastery.
