Gerania Mt: Yellow Triangle
Gerania Mt
Yellow Triangle
The Yellow Connection Trail (usually called Yellow triangle, although the markings are simple yellow dots on trees and rocks) leads from Schinos to Panagia Faneromeni, providing a connection to the Red Trail Red Square.
The trail starts from "Geraneia street" on the higher end of Schinos and climbs the famous Gherakina Stairway, a very good path ending at Laka Paravireza, on the dirt road from Pisia to Aghia Marina. Follow the dirt road to the west (right) for 1600m and get another dirt road to the left. Just before an estate with three tall cypresses, turn right towards a wide path, which soon splits: take the left path (the right branch leads to a plateau where there is an impressive seasonal waterfall). The path, though somewhat steep, is very good and soon passes by the Gikas farmhouse and enters a large plateau. Cross a tall pine forest with a rich undergrowth of junipers and end up in the green meadow, near the chapel Panagia Faneromeni.
The signage and the maintenance of this trail is undertook by the Mountaineering Club of Loutraki.
