Mt Giona: Flora of Reka gorge

Reka gorge and especially its upper section are one of the most important shelters in the rich flora of Mt Giona. Especially in early summer, when the blossoming period reaches its peak, the area from the refuge to the head of Reka gorge, offers the opportunity to identify many species of plants in the mid-elevation zone of Mt Giona.

The Giona topoguide application covers several nature trails on Mt Giona, including a floristic trail from the upper section of Reka gorge to the Mt Giona refuge. Along the way, some 15 interesting forests and sub-alpine plants have been identified. As the hiker approaches the typical area of a plant, he will be notified by an icon, referring to the relevant chapter and assisted by a photo and description of the plant.

The application Giona topoguide is available for Android devices at Play Store and iOS devices at App Store.

The application includes an extended indroduction to the flora of Mt Giona, as well as a rich guide in the geography, nature and culture of Mt Giona area.
