A long loop around Kesariani monastery
The trail starts just after the Karamolegos guardhouse (near the Kesariani interchange). Ascend a well used trail, which intersects a small road and reach the large recreation area of the Hill of Taxiarches (where there are two monuments, the early Christian basilica Fragomonastiro and the chapel of Taxiarches). After a short rest, continue to a pedestrian road that passes above a small olive grove and ends at a large concrete tank, just above a nice open cistern (just below, you can see the open chapel of Anapipsi and a second cistern). From here we catch the very good path that runs through the slopes above the small valley of the Kesariani monastery and arrive in Kalopoula spring and recreation area.
From Kalopoula we will return to our starting point from the very good path into the ravine.
