Allium phthioticum
The flora of Mt. Oeta counts 1,149 species and subspecies, about 1/5 of the Greek flora. Mt. Oeta hosts also an important number of endemic plant species of Greece and the Balkans, while two local endemic species, Veronica oetaea and a species of wild garlic (Allium lagarophyllum) have been identified.

Some of the Greek endemic species and subspecies found in Mt. Oeta are: Alkanna calliensis, Rhinanthus pubescens, Dianthus tymphresteus, Petrorhagia phthiotica, Centaurea pelia, Colchicum parnassicum, Genista millii, Linum punctatum ssp. Pycnophyllum, Thymus hartvigii ssp. Hartvigii and Edraianthus parnassicus.

Epipactis palustris
Also noteworthy are the lilies (Lilium chalcedonicum, Lilium martagon, Lilium candidum), the Poet's daffodil (Narcissus poeticus), the crocuses (Crocus veluchensis, Crocus sieberi), the orchids (e.g., Dactylorhiza sp., Orchis sp., Himantoglossum caprinum, Cephalanthera rubra), violas (e.g., Viola aetolica, Viola graeca), wild garlic (e.g., Allium phthioticum), Campanula versicolor, Centaurea triumfettii, Iris pumila ssp. attica and many others.

An important point on the flora of Mt. Oeta is that, together with the neighboring Mt. Giona and Vardousia Mountains, are the southernmost limit for the distribution of species of northern origin, such as Trollius europaeus, Rhynchocorys elephas, Actaea spicata, Caltha palustris and Thalictrum aquilegiifolium. Moreover, Mt. Oeta flora includes species of eastern origin, such as Thlaspi kotsyanum and Morina persica.
