The so-called Short MTB loop of Mt. Hymettus - which is not short at all, with not less than 34 km - is a fantastic mountain adventure calling a cohesive team for a whole day.
The route starts from the rural areas of Koropi, but as it is circular, you can start from any other convenient location. The first section is an endless uphill: climb till Sesi and next reach the asphalt going for the Mt. Hymettus summit. Here's a fun downhill on asphalt until the road junction above Papagos cemetery. We continue on the level dirt road going around the northernmost edge of Mt. Hymettus and till the Koutouki Cave. We descend to Peania by the asphalt road and through secondary roads we go back to our starting point.
